Katisaa Hope Center

The photo gallery requires at least Flash version 9.0.28.

Katisaa is about 5 miles from the growing town of Machakos, and is the least developed of all the Hope Centers.

The church is well established and is growing, but we have not been able to build a church building.  The families meet in the new classroom recently built.  The people have made these kiln burned bricks in anticipation of help in building a church.

The only building at Katisaa is this pre-school building.  The building has now been completed with windows and doors.   There are 84 Pre-school children attending the school.

Our sponsorship program is strong and older children are being helped with their education. The children attend the local primary school nearest their homes, and due to the distances involved we are not able to provide a prepared lunch program.  Instead, dry food is purchased and distributed to each family for cooking at home. This is a wonderful way to help the entire family, and is much appreciated by the parents who have other small children at home who are not yet sponsored, but who benefit from the Special Ministries food program

There is a desperate need for a clinic at Katisaa. Right now our children are given medical treatment by a small clinic in Machakos, and are continuing to be in good health, but our people are finding it hard to walk to this clinic when they are sick.  During the rains it is impossible.  We are also looking forward to having a new Chapel where the people can worship, and duplex housing units for the teachers, pastor and the nurse.

We have a very dedicated committee at Katisaa who help us care for the children.

We praise God for all that is being done at Katisaa.
